This suits families arriving by train who want a stylish, central hotel right beside the station, with genuine walkability to the stadium, the castle and the shops. It's a strong all-rounder for a trip that doesn't rely on a car at all, given how genuinely close the station sits to everything.
- ✓Take advantage of the direct station proximity if arriving by train rather than car, cutting out a taxi transfer.
- ✓Try the Clayton Vitality Breakfast before an early pool start, since it's served daily at the hotel.
- ✓Walk to Cardiff Castle and Principality Stadium rather than booking a taxi, since both are genuinely close by.

The Clayton Vitality Breakfast set everyone up well before an early pool morning, and Cardiff Castle being a five-minute walk meant our rest day required no real planning. The View Restaurant became our default for dinner on two of the four nights we stayed.
