About this hotel

Hotel Atlantico Tower sits near Real Gabinete Português de Leitura in central Rio, a taxi or rideshare ride from Piscinão de Ramos, combining free breakfast and free parking with its own outdoor pool at a genuinely budget-friendly rate. The central location puts Rio's historic library and colonial-era streets within walking reach on non-pool-trip days, while the pool gives kids somewhere to cool off between sightseeing. A 7.2 rating from over six thousand reviews is the more modest score on this list, worth weighing against the smaller, higher-rated Santa Teresa guesthouses covered elsewhere here. Its position near Real Gabinete Português de Leitura also puts one of Rio's most photographed libraries within an easy walk, a worthwhile stop on a non-pool-trip day.

Our take

This suits a budget-focused family wanting a central location, free parking and a pool, and comfortable accepting a more modest guest rating than some smaller properties on this list. It's a less obvious pick for anyone prioritising the very top guest-rating tier. Book it for the combination of a central address, free parking and a genuinely low rate, accepting a more modest guest-rating tier in exchange.

  • Book the free parking directly if driving into central Rio for the Piscinão de Ramos trip.
  • Use the outdoor pool between sightseeing days near Real Gabinete Português de Leitura.
  • Set expectations around the more modest rating here versus smaller, pricier boutique stays on this list.

Why guests love it

The central location made sightseeing easy on the days we weren't heading out to Piscinão de Ramos, and free parking meant we kept the rental car without a second thought about daily fees. The pool wasn't fancy, but it did the job on hot afternoons between museum visits. It's a bigger, busier hotel than some of the smaller guesthouses we also looked at, and it showed in a few rougher edges, but the price and the free breakfast made it a fair trade for a family watching costs.
