Howard Johnson Plaza by Wyndham by the Falls Niagara Falls
A food court's worth of dining downstairs
About this hotel
Sitting right in the centre of the Clifton Hill tourist area, this Howard Johnson covers a family's practical needs efficiently: both indoor and outdoor pools for year-round swim flexibility, and an on-site dining lineup spanning Denny's, Pizza Hut Express, Chickn'Wich Express and Baskin Robbins that removes the need to plan meals at all. Rooms come with a 37-inch LCD TV, a coffee maker and a mini-fridge, straightforward rather than luxurious but genuinely comfortable for a multi-day stay. Being eight minutes' walk from the falls and right inside the Clifton Hill cluster means evenings after the water park closes are as simple as stepping outside the front door, and that combination of location and amenity is genuinely harder to find elsewhere on this stretch of the corridor.
- Multiple on-site dining options
- Indoor and outdoor pools
- Centre of Clifton Hill
Our take
This suits families wanting an easy, low-effort dining and swimming setup within walking distance of Clifton Hill without booking a premium tower. It's not a quiet retreat by any measure; the trade-off for that convenience is genuine entertainment-strip noise right at the property's doorstep every evening, especially once the whole group has settled into a routine.
- ✓Use the on-site Denny's or Pizza Hut Express for a fast dinner after a long water-park day rather than venturing further into Clifton Hill.
- ✓Alternate between the indoor and outdoor pools depending on the weather, since both are included at no extra cost here.
- ✓Book ahead for peak weekends, since this property's Clifton Hill location and food-court convenience make it a popular family pick.
Why we love it
