Hotel Der Sonnenhof
The town's 5-star spa address with three restaurants
About this hotel
Hotel Der Sonnenhof holds the top tier among Bad Wörishofen's hotels, a genuine 5-star property with upscale rooms and suites, a posh spa and three separate restaurants, a scale of dining variety unmatched by the town's smaller Kurhotels. Pools and a hot tub sit on-site alongside a fitness center, and pet-friendly, kid-friendly rooms mean the luxury tier here doesn't come at the cost of family flexibility. A two-minute walk to Kurpark Bad Woerishofen keeps the property close to the town's free Kneipp water-treading basins despite its higher-end positioning, and golf access and an airport shuttle round out a stay built for families wanting the full package. At 9.2 out of 10 across 1,020 reviews, it backs up its 5-star rating with a consistently strong guest experience across a large volume of stays.
- 5-star rating
- Three restaurants
- Pools and hot tub
- Posh spa
Our take
This suits families wanting the town's clearest luxury option, with genuine spa facilities, multiple dining choices and pools on-site, while staying close enough to the Kurpark to keep the wellness pacing intact. Families on a tighter budget will find better value at the town's mid-range Kurhotels, since Sonnenhof's rate reflects its top-tier positioning.
- ✓Book well ahead of school holidays, since this is the town's most in-demand luxury property by review volume.
- ✓Reserve restaurant tables early if dining across all three on-site options during your stay, especially in peak season.
- ✓Ask about golf access bundling if that's part of your plan, since it's listed among the property's amenities.
Why we love it
- The town's only 5-star property
- Three restaurants and a posh spa
- Pools and hot tub on-site
- Two-minute walk to the Kurpark
Why guests love itThis was our splurge stay of the trip, and the three restaurants alone made it feel different from the Kurhotels we'd compared. Being two minutes from the Kurpark meant we still got the free Kneipp basin experience every morning despite the higher-end setting. The kids used the pool daily while we took turns with the spa, and nothing about the luxury tier felt closed off to a family with kids.
