About this hotel

Margosa's setting inside Old Jaffa, steps from the flea market and the old city itself, gives a family a genuinely different Tel Aviv experience compared to the central beach strip, a real change of pace between Memadion visits. Rooms run 20 to 35 square metres, larger than a standard city hotel room, each with a balcony overlooking the old city, high-quality beds and a mini-fridge. The buffet breakfast offers oriental local food alongside regular dishes, a chance to try something different from a standard continental spread. A new meeting room suits any travelling group needing space to plan the days ahead. Paid parking is available depending on availability, useful for a family arriving by car.

Our take

This suits families who want Old Jaffa's atmosphere and market access as a genuine counterpoint to Memadion and the central beach hotels, and who value the larger room sizes for a multi-generational or longer stay. Families prioritising beach proximity above all else should look toward a north Tel Aviv seafront property instead.

  • Walk to the Jaffa flea market in the cooler morning hours before a Memadion day, since the old city's narrow streets get busy and hot by midday.
  • Request a larger room toward the 35 square metre end if travelling with more than two kids, since sizes vary noticeably across the property.
  • Confirm paid parking availability ahead of arrival if driving, since spaces are limited rather than guaranteed.

Why we love it

Why guests love it

Old Jaffa gave our trip a completely different flavour from the central Tel Aviv strip, and the flea market a few minutes from the hotel became our favourite non-Memadion morning. The balcony room, on the larger end at 30 square metres, gave the four of us actual breathing room after a long day of slides. The buffet breakfast's local dishes were a genuine highlight over the standard hotel spread.
