Villa Antiqua
A four-star garden stay with its own playground
About this hotel
Villa Antiqua sits six minutes by taxi from Burg Ratibor, the castle at the centre of Racibórz's old town, with its own garden, terrace and children's playground setting it apart from the more compact old-town guesthouses. Free parking and paid breakfast come alongside a bar and restaurant on site, which suits a family who'd rather not walk everywhere after a full day at H2Ostróg. The playground is the standout fact here: few of the other family-oriented stays near the water park offer somewhere for younger kids to burn off extra energy without another car trip. Older kids get the run of the garden and terrace, while a kid-friendly, accessible, smoke-free layout covers most of what a mixed-age family actually needs from a base.

Our take
Villa Antiqua suits a family who wants a proper garden and playground alongside the water park trip, and who doesn't mind a short taxi ride rather than a walk into the old town each day. It's a step up in price from the central budget guesthouses, and less suited to a family planning to walk everywhere without a car.
- ✓Book the playground-facing rooms if travelling with younger kids, since garden access varies by room type at this property.
- ✓Arrange your taxi or transfer to the castle and Rynek in advance, since it's a ride rather than a walk from here.
- ✓Reserve breakfast when booking rather than assuming it's included, since it's a paid add-on at this property specifically.
Why we love it
- Private garden with a children's playground
- Six minutes by taxi from the castle
- Bar and restaurant on site
- Kid-friendly, accessible and smoke-free throughout the property
Why guests love itThe playground was what sold us on Villa Antiqua, and it delivered exactly what we needed between H2Ostróg sessions. Our youngest spent an hour there most afternoons while the older kids read on the terrace, which gave everyone a break from the pool routine without leaving the property. The taxi ride into town for dinner a couple of nights felt like a fair trade for the garden space we had the rest of the time.
