About this hotel

Choosing a Meliá removes some of the guesswork that comes with booking a hotel abroad: the standards are the same chain-wide, and here they come wrapped in an all-inclusive plan with a spa attached. Benidorm's high-rise skyline is part of the deal too, with Levante beach a manageable ride away and Aqualandia reachable without needing to plan the day around one bus. At 6,651 reviews, this is the single most reviewed hotel in this batch, which usually means groups keep coming back with extended family in tow rather than a one-off booking. The spa is worth building into the schedule, not just mentioning in passing, since it is one of the few places in the hotel not competing with a pool full of children.

Our take

A recognised international name lowers the stakes on a family booking, and Meliá Benidorm backs that up with an all-inclusive plan that covers the whole day rather than just breakfast. With 6,651 reviews on file, this is not a hotel still finding its feet, and the spa gives adults a reason to treat the evening as part of the holiday rather than a wind-down before the next Aqualandia morning.

  • Book the spa a day ahead in peak summer, since demand rises with the number of guests staying all-inclusive.
  • Use the hotel's central Benidorm position to walk to Levante beach on a day away from the water park.
  • Check in early where possible; a hotel with this many reviews often has a busy front desk at peak arrival times.

Why we love it

  • One of Spain's most recognisable hotel names
  • All-inclusive plan with its own spa
  • Highest review count of any hotel in this line-up
  • Central Benidorm base for beach and park days alike
Why guests love it

We chose a Meliá because we had stayed at one before in another city and knew roughly what to expect, and Benidorm did not disappoint. The all-inclusive plan meant my in-laws, who were travelling with us, never had to worry about splitting a bill after a long Aqualandia day. My son liked that the pool had space even in August, and I liked that the spa was quiet enough for a proper half hour away from everyone. With 6,651 other reviews backing it up, we clearly were not the only ones who felt looked after.
