About this hotel

Hotel Colon Rambla features free Wi-Fi, an outdoor pool and charming gardens in the heart of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The hotel is fronted by an impressive glass wall continuing around to the garden and outdoor terrace, with spacious interiors overlooking the Ramblas that the property faces. Air-conditioned rooms come with a plasma satellite TV and minibar, with laundry service available for guests. The outdoor pool, terrace and gardens sit alongside a restaurant and bar with its own terrace, plus several function rooms for meetings or celebrations, and a 24-hour reception. Conveniently located next to García Sanabria Park and Patos Square, the hotel is only ten minutes from the port, with the seawater pools of Parque Marítimo César Manrique a short ride further along the waterfront.

Our take

Hotel Colon Rambla suits a family wanting its own outdoor pool as a calmer alternative to the lido, alongside gardens and a terrace right in the middle of Santa Cruz. The Ramblas-facing rooms are worth requesting for the view alone, and the function rooms suit a larger multi-generational family group well.

  • ✓Request a room facing the Ramblas for the view, rather than a garden-facing room at a similar rate.
  • ✓Use the hotel's own outdoor pool on the days the family wants a quieter swim than the open lido offers.
  • ✓Take advantage of the on-site laundry service for pool towels during a longer family stay.

Why we love it

  • Own outdoor pool and gardens
  • Faces the Ramblas
  • Next to García Sanabria Park
  • Ten minutes from the port
Why guests love it

The garden and outdoor pool gave our children a second place to swim on the mornings we did not feel like the trip out to the seawater pools. Being right next to García Sanabria Park meant an easy evening walk after dinner, tired legs and all, without needing a taxi anywhere, and the glass-walled terrace made even a rainy afternoon feel bright.
