Heated Pools
Hotels near waterparks with a heated pool, for swims before and after the park in Orlando, Tampa, Erie, Niagara Falls or Wisconsin Dells.
A heated hotel pool stretches the waterpark season at both ends. On a cool morning in March in Florida, or an October evening by Lake Erie, it means the children can still swim after the park has closed, and parents do not have to negotiate a cold dip. This collection gathers the hotels in our listings with a heated pool, and North America dominates it. In Orlando, many resorts near Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Universal's Volcano Bay heat their pools all year, and the same applies to hotels near Adventure Island in Tampa. Further north, heated indoor or outdoor pools matter even more: think of Splash Lagoon in Erie, Pennsylvania, Fallsview Indoor Waterpark in Niagara Falls, Noah's Ark in Wisconsin Dells, Cedar Point Shores in Sandusky and Oceans of Fun in Kansas City. In Canada, the hotels near Splash Works north of Toronto complete the list. We tag a hotel when its listing mentions a heated pool, but water temperature and opening dates are set by each hotel, so outdoor pools may still close in the coldest months.

- Ask whether the heated pool is indoor or outdoor, and whether the outdoor one stays open in winter.
- Check the pool hours, since heated pools often close earlier in the evening than the rest of the hotel.
- Pack a warm hooded towel or robe for children, as the walk back from an outdoor heated pool can be chilly.
- In Florida, ask if the pool is cooled in high summer as well, because some resorts both heat and chill their water.
- Look for a hot tub next to the pool if parents want to warm up after a long day at the park.
