About this hotel

Best Western's city-centre property is the most central of Stoke-on-Trent's spa-and-pool hotels, putting the Potteries Museum and Hanley's shops within easy reach alongside its own pool, spa, bar and restaurant. It's a straightforward, no-frills version of a wellness evening rather than a full resort spa, but for a family who has spent the day at Water World and wants a different kind of pool that evening without driving out to a motorway-junction hotel, the central location is the deciding factor. Free Wi-Fi is included, and the bar and restaurant cover dinner without needing to head back out into town after a long day of flumes and swimming. The central Hanley setting rounds it off, putting the Potteries Museum and city-centre shops within an easy walk on a day away from the flumes.

Our take

This suits a family who wants a central Hanley base with its own pool and spa rather than trekking out toward the motorway for the same amenity. It's not the pick if you specifically want walking distance to Water World itself, that's DoubleTree's advantage, not this one. Its central Hanley position also means the Potteries Museum and city shops are an easy walk away on a day you're not heading to the park.

  • Combine an evening at the hotel pool with a daytime visit to the Potteries Museum, both are an easy walk from here.
  • Confirm parking arrangements separately when booking, this is a more central, city-style hotel than the motorway-adjacent options.
  • Book ahead for weekend stays, this smaller central property has fewer rooms than the big out-of-town chains.

Why we love it

  • Central Hanley location
  • Own pool and spa on site
  • Bar and restaurant included
  • Free Wi-Fi throughout
Why guests love it

We stayed centrally so we could walk to the Potteries Museum one afternoon and still have a pool to come back to after Water World the next day. It's a simpler set-up than some of the bigger spa hotels nearby, but for a central base with its own pool, it did exactly what we needed. We'd stay again for the location alone.
