Tammys lodge
A modest, walkable lodge near the park
About this hotel
Tammys lodge is a small, independent stay near Potteries Way, a four-minute walk from that stretch of central Stoke-on-Trent and within reasonable walking distance of Water World itself. It's a modest, no-frills option rather than a full hotel, which suits a family prioritising location and value over amenities. Being an independent, smaller lodge means fewer rooms and a more personal check-in experience than the chain hotels nearby, and the walkable position means a car isn't strictly necessary for a Water World trip built around this base. It's a modest, independent stay rather than a branded hotel, which keeps costs down for a family who mainly needs somewhere to sleep between park sessions.

Our take
This suits a family who wants a modest, walkable, independent stay near the park and doesn't need hotel-style amenities. It's not the pick if you want a restaurant, bar or fitness centre on site, those are better found at the city's chain hotels. Its walkable position near Potteries Way suits a family who'd rather explore the city on foot than plan around a car the whole trip.
- ✓Confirm exactly what's included ahead of booking, as an independent lodge, amenities are more limited than a branded hotel.
- ✓Plan to walk into central Stoke-on-Trent and toward Water World rather than relying on a car from here.
- ✓Book ahead given the limited room count at this smaller, independent property.
Why we love it
- Walkable to central Stoke-on-Trent
- Modest, independent character
- Smoke-free throughout
- Good value for a walkable base
Why guests love itThis was a simple, honest place to stay, nothing more than we needed for a quick water park trip. Being able to walk into town and toward Water World meant we left the car at the lodge for most of the weekend, which made the whole visit feel a lot less like a driving holiday. Basic, but it did exactly what we needed.
