About this hotel

This Premier Inn sits closest to Coventry's cathedral quarter of the chain's three properties near The Wave, putting families within walking distance of the Transport Museum and Belgrade Theatre rather than the park itself. It suits a trip where the waterpark is one day among several rather than the sole focus, since the rest of central Coventry's sights sit far closer here than to the ring-road alternatives. En-suite family rooms, air conditioning and an on-site restaurant and coffeeshop cover the practical side, with the familiar Premier Inn standard of predictable, no-surprises comfort throughout. Breakfast is available at an extra charge rather than included in the room rate, and the coffeeshop downstairs covers a quick start before the museum opens.

Our take

This suits families splitting their trip between The Wave and Coventry's city-centre sights, who want the museum and theatre within walking distance and don't mind a drive out to the park each day. It's less suited to a trip built purely around the waterpark, where a ring-road property closer to the arena side would cut the daily journey shorter.

  • Add breakfast at booking rather than paying at check-in, since the on-site charge is noticeably higher than the pre-booked rate.
  • Book a family room specifically rather than a standard double, as the two are allocated differently at this property.
  • Reserve early for school-holiday weekends, since this cathedral-quarter location books up faster than the ring-road Premier Inn options.

Why we love it

  • Walk to the Transport Museum
  • Close to Belgrade Theatre
  • En-suite family rooms
  • On-site restaurant and coffeeshop
Why guests love it

We chose this one because we wanted to combine a Wave day with a proper look at Coventry itself, and being able to walk to the Transport Museum the next morning worked well with tired legs after the slides. The room was exactly what you'd expect from this chain, clean and functional rather than memorable, but the location near the theatre district made the evenings easier to fill than a purely ring-road stay would have.
