About this hotel

Ramada Hotel & Suites gives families a contemporary base with a genuine mix of standard rooms and larger suites, useful for a group that's outgrown a single hotel double. Its restaurant, lounge bar and fitness centre round out a stay built for more than just sleeping between park days, and its pet-friendly policy makes it one of the more flexible options for a family travelling with a dog. It sits a drive rather than a walk from The Wave, closer to Coventry Cathedral and the wider cathedral quarter than the arena side of the city. Breakfast is available, and free Wi-Fi and parking (paid) cover the rest of the practical basics for a multi-night stay.

Our take

This suits families wanting suite-style space or travelling with a dog, who don't mind trading a short walk to The Wave for a more central, cathedral-quarter location with a proper restaurant and bar on site. It's a mid-range pick rather than a budget one, so families chasing the lowest possible rate should compare against the ring-road chains first.

  • Book a suite rather than a standard room if travelling with more than two children, since the extra space genuinely helps after a tiring slides day.
  • Confirm the pet policy and any associated fee directly with the hotel before booking if bringing a dog.
  • Reserve parking at booking rather than assuming a space, since it's charged separately and can fill up on busy weekends.

Why guests love it

We needed more space than a standard double for our family of five and the suite here genuinely delivered, with enough room that nobody was tripping over wet towels after The Wave. The lounge bar was a nice touch in the evenings once the kids had eaten, and bringing our dog along wasn't the hassle we'd braced for. The drive out to the park each morning was the only real downside compared with staying somewhere closer.
