Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Columbus Dublin
The corridor's top-rated pick, minus the pet policy
About this hotel
Fairfield by Marriott posts the strongest overall rating among every hotel in this corridor, combining bright, contemporary rooms with an indoor pool and free hot breakfast as standard. It sits a nine-minute walk from Sawmill Road and Sawbury Boulevard, putting a few casual dining options within easy reach without a drive. The one clear limitation is that this property does not accept pets, unlike most of the rest of the Dublin corridor, so families travelling with a dog should look elsewhere on this list. That is a modest difference on paper, but it is the kind of detail that shapes how the whole multi-day trip actually feels by the second morning. For a family weighing several options in this same price range, that detail alone can be enough to decide between two otherwise similar hotels.
- Strongest overall rating in the corridor
- Free hot breakfast and an indoor pool
- Bright, contemporary room design
- Short walk to Sawmill Road dining
Our take
This is the strongest all-around rating in the corridor, and the indoor pool plus free hot breakfast make it a genuinely easy base for a Zoombezi Bay trip. The one trade-off is the no-pet policy, so families travelling with a dog should book Hampton Inn or Extended Stay America instead. That combination of amenities and location is what makes this pick worth the extra look compared with the rest of the corridor.
- ✓Book well ahead, since this property's strong rating means it sells out before others in the corridor.
- ✓Walk to Sawmill Road for a casual dinner rather than driving after a day at the zoo.
- ✓Look elsewhere in the corridor if travelling with a pet, since this property does not accept them.
Why we love it

Why guests love itThis came up as the best-reviewed hotel in the area and it held up in person, with a genuinely hot breakfast every morning and an indoor pool the kids used most evenings after Zoombezi Bay. We did have to leave our dog with family for this trip since the hotel does not accept pets, which was the only real downside. None of that changes the core trade-off of staying in this corridor: a car remains part of the plan for every trip in or out of the zoo gate.
