About this hotel

Multigenerational groups are the whole point of Regal Oaks: two-, three- and four-bedroom townhome villas sit inside a gated community, each with its own screened patio and private hot tub, plus in-home laundry so wet swimsuits never pile up in a shared bathroom. The shared pool takes the lagoon-style approach, with zero-entry access and dual water slides, and a poolside bar and grill covers the adults keeping half an eye on the kids from a lounger. Disney Springs sits close enough that dinner there does not eat the whole evening on the drive back to a gated community built around its own lake-style pool. The property carries an 8.2 rating from 945 reviews, with free-parking on top of the family-suites, water-slides and spa-wellness tags, reflecting a resort built for a full villa rather than a single hotel room, and priced for a group splitting one unit rather than booking several separate rooms.

  • Two- to four-bedroom gated villas
  • Private screened patio and hot tub in every unit
  • Lagoon pool with dual water slides
  • Poolside bar and grill, in-home laundry

Our take

We would point a bigger family group here first, three generations under one roof or two families sharing a villa. The private hot tub on the patio does real work after a day on Typhoon Lagoon's slides, somewhere for the adults to sit once the kids are down. It will not suit a couple wanting hotel-style service and a lobby restaurant, but for a group that wants its own kitchen, its own laundry and a pool with real water slides steps from the door, that trade barely registers.

  • Book well ahead for school-holiday weeks; multi-bedroom villas at this rating and price point sell out earlier than standard hotel rooms.
  • Ask for a villa close to the pool area if you have young kids, since the gated community spreads across real walking distance between buildings.
  • Use the in-home laundry mid-stay rather than waiting until departure day, when everyone's swimsuits are still wet from the last Typhoon Lagoon session.

Why we love it

  • A private hot tub on the screened patio of every villa, genuinely useful after a day of slides at Typhoon Lagoon.
  • A lagoon-style pool with zero-entry access and two water slides shared across the community.
  • Two-, three- and four-bedroom layouts built for multigenerational groups rather than a single hotel room.
  • Close enough to Disney Springs for dinner without losing the whole evening to the drive.
Why guests love it

We split the cost of a three-bedroom villa at Regal Oaks with my sister's family, and the private hot tub on our patio became the evening ritual after Humunga Kowabunga wore the teenagers out at Typhoon Lagoon. Six of us cooked together most nights instead of hunting for a restaurant table, and the shared pool's two water slides kept the younger cousins entertained on the one day we skipped the park. It is a real drive to walk anywhere outside the community, so you do need a car, but for a group our size it worked out cheaper and far more comfortable than two hotel rooms.
