About this hotel

Toronto Waterfront Stay sits nine minutes' walk from Fort York National Historic Site and a minute from Fleet Street at Fort York Boulevard, close to Parisco Cafe for a nearby breakfast option. Despite its name, it does not sit directly on the water, but it puts a family within a short walk of the lakefront trail and the historic fort, a useful pairing for a non-park day during an Ontario Place trip. Its position in this stretch of downtown Toronto keeps it within a short streetcar ride of Therme Toronto as well, similar in distance to most other nearby budget and mid-range options. Its position inside downtown Toronto's core means taxis, ride-shares and the streetcar network all reach Ontario Place within a reasonable stretch of time.

Our take

This suits a family that wants a Fort York-adjacent base with an easy lakefront walk built into a non-park day, treating the water park and the historic fort as two separate parts of the same trip. Families who value straightforward logistics over extra polish tend to leave satisfied with the choice. It rewards a family that has already decided the water park, not the hotel, is the main event of the trip.

  • Combine a Fort York visit with a lakefront walk on the one day you skip the water park.
  • Try Parisco Cafe nearby for breakfast before an early departure to Therme Toronto.
  • Confirm the exact walk to the nearest streetcar stop, since the address sits slightly off the main routes.

Why guests love it

Toronto Waterfront Stay gave us an easy Fort York morning on our one non-park day, followed by a walk along the lakefront trail before heading back for a rest ahead of another day at Therme Toronto. Nothing about the stay stood out as a problem, which for a busy water park trip is exactly what a family wants from a hotel. It played a supporting role to the water park rather than competing with it, which suited the shape of the whole trip.
