About this hotel

Boutique Hotel Mauro sits directly on Poreč's vivid seaside promenade, with the UNESCO-listed Euphrasian Basilica just 200 metres away, close enough for an evening walk after a day at Istralandia. Rooms are modern in style, decorated with stone and wooden elements, air-conditioned, and split between those overlooking the Adriatic and those facing the historic core, so it is worth requesting a preference at booking. Free WiFi runs throughout. The hotel's position on the promenade means the evening after a slides day naturally becomes a walk along the water rather than a drive somewhere else, which matters after a long day of queues and sun for a tired family. Its position on the seafront promenade also means the walk to and from an Istralandia day trip's car pickup point stays short and shaded by the surrounding old-town buildings.

  • Seafront promenade location
  • Near UNESCO basilica
  • Air-conditioned modern rooms

Our take

This suits families and couples who want a genuinely central, walkable old-town base with sea views on offer, treating Istralandia as a single day-trip excursion within a broader Poreč stay. It suits fewer travelers looking for a full resort programme or a large pool complex, since the format here is boutique and promenade-focused rather than resort-scale. Book ahead for peak summer, since the promenade position makes this one of the more sought-after boutique stays in old-town Poreč.

  • Request a sea-view room specifically at booking, since not every room faces the Adriatic.
  • Walk to the basilica in the early evening before dinner, when the light on the stonework is best.
  • Book ahead for peak summer, since the promenade location makes this one of Poreč's more sought-after boutique stays.

Why we love it

  • 200 metres from the Euphrasian Basilica
  • Directly on the seaside promenade
  • Modern stone-and-wood room design
  • Sea or historic-core view options
Why guests love it

The promenade outside Boutique Hotel Mauro became our evening routine after every Istralandia day, gelato in hand, the basilica lit up a short walk away. Our sea-view room meant the Adriatic was the first thing we saw each morning before the drive out to the park, which set a calmer tone than a plain city-facing room would have. It is a small hotel, not a resort, and that suited us fine for a trip built around one big park day and several slower ones.
