Hotel Marquesa
A mid-market spa alternative to Interpalace, with far more reviews
About this hotel
Hotel Marquesa sits at 7.6 out of 10 across nearly 2,000 guest reviews, a lower rating but a considerably larger review base than BLUESEA Interpalace, the other spa-only hotel added in this update. Both share the same single-axis profile, spa and wellness rather than a kids' pool, suite-style rooms or heated water, which sets them apart from the family-focused hotels elsewhere in this group. The larger review count here suggests a bigger or longer-running property, and it's worth reading a spread of recent opinions rather than assuming the two spa hotels are interchangeable, since a lower rating across a wider guest base tells a different story than a higher rating across a smaller one. It sits within the same cluster of addresses near Avenida de Colón, a walk from Lago Martiánez and Playa Jardín, without the family-suite or splash-zone features that define several other hotels in this update.
- Spa and wellness facilities
- Nearly 2,000 guest reviews
- Walking distance to Lago Martiánez
Our take
Between the two spa-only hotels we're adding this round, Marquesa is the higher-volume, lower-rated option against Interpalace's smaller but stronger-scoring base, worth knowing before you book on rating alone. Neither hotel has a kids' pool, so families set on a splash zone should look elsewhere in this group; for a straightforward spa stay near the lake without the family extras, Marquesa is a reasonable, if not top-scoring, choice.
- ✓Compare recent reviews rather than the headline rating alone, since almost 2,000 opinions here paint a broader picture than a smaller review base would.
- ✓Skip this hotel if a kids' pool or family suite is part of your trip; neither is on offer here.
- ✓Weigh Marquesa against BLUESEA Interpalace directly if a spa stay is the priority, since both cover the same single axis.
Why we love it
- One of only two spa-only hotels added in this update.
- A considerably larger review base than most hotels in this group.
- Within the same walkable cluster near Lago Martiánez.
- A straightforward, no-frills spa stay without family-facing extras.
Why guests love itWe stayed at Marquesa on a couples trip, no kids this time, mostly because it was available when Interpalace down the road was fully booked. It did the job: a decent spa, a quiet enough room, nothing that stood out as remarkable but nothing that let us down either. Reading back through other guests' reviews before we booked gave a much more even picture than the rating alone suggested, which is worth doing here given how many opinions there are to draw on.
