Why guests love itOur two nights in Pyongyang were spent at the Sosan Hotel, assigned to our group by the tour operator rather than chosen by us. The red 30-storey tower in the Mangyongdae Sports Village felt more functional than glamorous, but the indoor heated pool and the karaoke room kept the kids busy after a full day at Munsu Water Park. The open-air barbecue restaurant in the front garden was a genuine highlight one evening. Renovated in 2015, the rooms were plain but comfortable enough for a short stay.
